Joe is a manufacturing technical professional with more than 20 years of multi-faceted process engineering and management experience in the high reliability electronics industry. The first 17 years of Joe’s career growth were at MITEQ Inc. in Hauppage, NY. Early days were utilized developing wet chemical processes for producing high frequency microwave circuit boards and package plating. His metallurgical and chemical know-how allowed movement through the company as a technical resource for every product line. Involvement in peripheral company functions such as waste management, safety, employee training for IPC certification, and facilities planning opened the door to more professional growth during his tenure within the company. Joe learned early on the value and importance of metrics and statistics based decision making. This led to the self-taught discipline of database creation. Several databases were implemented for the departments he served and at times Joe served as an IT consultant for other groups within the company. This remains a strong suit of Joe’s leadership presence. Prior to moving on from MITEQ , Joe served a dual role as a Production Manager and Process Engineer for a $14 million/year division with 40 direct report personnel in drafting, materials, planning, manufacturing and test. Since then Joe managed operations and engineering functions at Modular Devices Inc in Shirley, NY where he was responsible for increasing throughput by 25% and reducing the scrap rate of their primary power converter product by > 30%. He has since led an eight-engineer team at Aeroflex in Plainview, NY where his primary function was an interface between design engineering and the production floor. In addition to this cross functional role, Joe was an active representative for his division at JEDEC conferences where the specifications that drive the aerospace industry are decided upon.
